Ashaka & Ram Jam Reggae
Ashaka & Ramjam Reggae is a reggae band that plays a straight-up original style of reggae music dubbed “now school reggae.” The band is led by Linval Thomas, aka, Ashaka, Jamaican-born writer, singer, arranger, and producer. The band is a tale of two cities: Ashaka resides in Belleville, Illinois, and the other members of his band reside in St Louis, Missouri. Their music is original, conscious, and contemporary; influences range from Peter Tosh to Bob Marley. Ashaka & Ram Jam Reggae have been a band since October 2008, and they are still evolving. Members of the band include: Ashaka - Lead Vocal; Dave Hagerty - Lead Guitar; Tim Hendricks - Rhythm Guitar; DeAngelo Perry - Bass Guitar; and Sunni Daniel - Drums.
